Lie-flat comfort, decent meals, and a few amenity misses on this ultra long haul.
This video covers a full review of United Airlines’ Polaris Business Class on the ultra long haul from Melbourne to San Francisco. The seat is as comfy as ever — perfect for sleep (if you can squeeze it in), and despite the narrower Dreamliner cabin, it still holds up well. If you’ve flown Polaris on a 777 before, you’ll notice the difference, but it’s far from a dealbreaker.
Meal service has taken a step in the right direction, with two solid dishes and signs that United’s catering revamp is paying off — even if consistency still varies. The only letdown? Amenity kits felt underwhelming, and there were no pajamas onboard (apparently a supply issue). Still, all up, a smooth and enjoyable flight with United that ticks most of the premium boxes.
